Windows registry trouble shooting
The widows registry is a very important part the computer as it functions as a central filling system of the computer and stores all the preference and settings. This includes information for administrative settings, file associations, permissions as well as individual user settings for software and hardware. Depending on the version of windows, the registry will be made up of different files and folders with different names and located in different places.
As you use your computer, it continually makes references to the registry and that is why when the registry is full of errors, clutter, or corrupted files, several problems arise; the most common being crashes , freezes , runtime errors ActiveX problems and a general sluggish performance.
How does it get damaged or corrupted?
There are a number of things that cause the registry to become damaged or corrupted , the more common ones are when you uninstall software or hardware drivers incorrectly. Pieces of the previous program are left behind in the registry and cause conflict with new or existing software.
Unremoved files stored temporarily in the registry, affect the system as they accumulate and result in sluggish performance.
Fixing registry errors
The best way to fix registry errors is to use a registry cleaner software program like RegCure, unless you are an expert at it and know exactly what you are doing. I do not advice that you do it manually, as using a registry cleaner is a much safer, more effective way of getting the work done the right way. Messing up just one tiny piece of the registry could destroy your computer.
